BIOGRAPHY
Meet Clare, a compassionate and highly skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist with over 13 years of experience, dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages on their mental health journey. With an impressive background in the Child Guidance Clinic in Singapore, as well as 8 years of experience in hospitals and private clinics in Perth, Clare brings a wealth of international expertise to her practice. She helps people with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and stress-related difficulties.”
“Clare’s special interest lies in helping young children and teenagers. As a mother, she firmly believes that a child’s emotional challenges are closely intertwined with their family dynamics, which led her to pursue and complete a Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy at the prestigious Williams Street Family Therapy Centre in Australia. With this holistic approach, Clare explores and addresses child-parent dynamics and childhood attachments with caregivers.”
Her versatility shines through her work in diverse settings, from hospital wards to outpatient clinics and community agencies. As part of the REACH team, she also visited schools to help children and teenagers grappling with mental health issues. Clare has extensive experience in individual, group, and family therapy. Having worked in Australia for many years, Clare has a keen appreciation of how cultural and heritage backgrounds shape personal and social identities.
Clare’s expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy allows her to tailor her therapeutic approach to individual needs. She was a pioneer in establishing DBT groups at the Child Guidance Clinic in Singapore and played an instrumental role in developing interventions at the Perth Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital in Perth.
Continuously seeking knowledge, Clare has presented her research findings at conferences in the USA, Europe, Japan, and South Africa. Additionally, she has written and published books to help children with anxiety and selective mutism. Passionate about promoting mental health and self-care, Clare has conducted public workshops and self-care training for undergraduates and counsellors at the National University of Singapore.
Within the therapy room, Clare creates a non-judgmental space where every client’s unique life narrative is valued.
