BIOGRAPHY
Pei Ping brings over 25 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families through her work in Singapore’s education system. She continues this work as a counsellor and therapist.
She served as a senior education leader in the Ministry of Education (MOE). Beginning her career as a teacher, she later progressed to roles as Head of Department and Vice-Principal. In these positions, she worked closely with students, parents, teachers, counsellors, and community partners to support young people facing challenges such as school refusal, anxiety, depression, selective mutism, ADHD, and conduct difficulties. She also partnered with teachers and school staff to navigate interpersonal conflicts, workplace bullying, and life transitions, while fostering a more respectful and sustainable work environment.
At MOE HQ, she contributed to policies to promote students’ holistic development. She spent two years with the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), under the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), to work on quality assurance and initiatives to enhance psychosocial development in preschool children.
Motivated by a deep interest in mental health, Pei Ping pursued post-graduate training in counselling. Drawing on her experience across school, community, and residential care settings, she supported clients facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, identity challenges, addiction recovery, and relational difficulties.
Her therapeutic approach is client-centred and integrative. She draws on a range of modalities—including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), and Choice Theory / Reality Therapy (CTRT) – tailoring her approach to each client’s unique needs. She is also a certified practitioner of Brain-Switch 2.0® and Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), neuroscience-informed approaches that support nervous system regulation and the processing of difficult emotions and trauma.
Pei Ping views therapy as a collaborative process to help clients better understand their experiences, build resilience and develop practical strategies to navigate life’s challenges. Her special interest is in helping students and young adults navigate academic pressures, relationship challenges, emotional distress, identity development, and family relationships.
With her extensive experience, Pei Ping understands the emotional and relational challenges young people face. She also works collaboratively with families because she appreciates how family relationships shape emotional well-being in youths. She believes that behind every client is story to be heard and understood.
By creating a space of compassion and trust, Pei Ping believes that the strengths that sit hidden beside our struggles can begin to emerge and foster hope and meaningful change.
